Sometimes life can feel a bit overwhelming, the mum juggle is hard and no matter what age your children it doesn’t get easier. It just changes.

One of the things I have changed in the last few years, is making time for me to Laura and not just mum. Not that I hate being mum, far from it. But it’s nice to be just me sometimes.

Last night was such fun with the friends I have made at martial arts and getting to see one of the ladies get married. And I think a little bit of what the doctor ordered.

Running a business can also be full on, so when did you last time for yourself?

This is honestly something I hear so often. Oh I gave reels a bit of a go, but they didn’t work… I tried Instagram but after two weeks nothing was happening… i’ve sent a couple of email newsletters and I don’t see the point.

So many people give up far too soon… before the magic happens ✨ or perhaps not understanding why they were doing the thing in the first place.

This is why strategy matters. Understanding the why, staying the course so you can see if the plan actually worked. Learning from it, not abandoning it.

I have had someone ask me this, and there was a time I used to feel nervous about getting in front of the camera. But not so much anymore.

The business I have built has allowed me to be here for my children, to never apologise for wanting to see a school play or nativity. Or at the moment to juggle work and half term. And I have two amazing women in my team who can do the same.

So next time instead of feeling nervous or uncomfortable how about reframing it… think about why you are doing this and focus on that instead.

Today is World Mental Health Day and here are a few things I want you to know. It’s not easy, I feel like this too sometimes, and you’re not alone. And please if you are struggling reach out for help.

Thank you as always to the ladies that have my back. I couldn’t be here without you.

And I strongly believe if something isn’t working for you, change it. This is coming from a woman whose corporate career was everything and I always thought my path was going to be climbing that ladder. Until I knew it wasn’t right for me anymore. And here I am, no regrets.
